As a crime and disorder reduction partnership, we are required to do a number of things:
- Work together to reduce crime and disorder.
- Undertake an “audit” of crime and disorder every 3 years to establish current trends to build a realistic picture of what is happening in the city.
- Consult with the public to find out what they feel about crime and disorder in their community. Information gained by audits may not tell the complete story. In order to gain a fuller picture, in 2004, we ran focus sessions with a number of different groups.
- Every 3 years, produce a strategy setting out what we will do to make the city safer. This is based on what we learn from the audit and consultation.
