The Safer Leicester Partnership (SLP) is made up of a number of different agencies, such as Leicester City Council, Leicestershire Constabulary, Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service, Leicestershire & Rutland Probation Board and Leicester City NHS and also includes partners from the private and the voluntary sector, such as the local Chamber of Commerce sector and victim and witness support services.
The Partnership was formed in 1999 as a result of the Crime & Disorder Act 1998 with the idea that it takes the joined-up efforts of a number of different agencies to make a real difference to community safety issues in our city.
The Partnership is committed to protecting communities from harm regardless of ethnicity, sexuality, gender, disability, religion or age.
SLP is supported by funds from and number of sources such as central government and local agencies. Funding is allocated to partners to carry out work to reduce crime and disorder in the city.
