The purpose of this strategic assessment is to provide clear and accurate strategic recommendations on issues of greatest concern, risk and seriousness within the community safety and community confidence agenda. This assessment also offers analysis and informs strategic planning; identifying areas for further tactical analysis to meet the challenges faced by partners making Leicester safer, look safer and feel safer. The document also seeks to identify gaps in our knowledge and understanding that need addressing. This process will enable the Safer Leicester Partnership to focus on the issues that count, where they matter most and continue to improve outcomes for the people of Leicester.
The work of the Safer Leicester Partnership (SLP) is aligned to the One Leicester priorities and specifically the priority of "creating thriving, safe communities". SLP is a merged partnership, comprising the city’s Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership (CDRP) and the Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT), and therefore works to a crime and substance misuse agenda. Our focus is on the needs and expectations of people and places that are most vulnerable.
