Between September and November 2009 a survey was undertaken to establish people's perceptions of crime and antisocial behaviour issues in their local neighbourhoods.
Two versions of a questionnaire were produced - a standard version (SV) and an easy-read version (ER) accessible to people with learning disabilities/difficulties.
The SV version was promoted via an advert in Link; an email message to all City Council employees with access to email (6000); via Voluntary Action Leicester's weekly e’bulletin; and a targeted message to specialist services in the city. Leicester Centre for Integrated Living distributed correspondence, with a copy of the questionnaire, through their mailing list of approximately 200 agencies and individuals.
The ER version was distributed via the Learning Disabilities Service to support workers, care home managers and individuals.
A total of 222 forms were returned - 160 SV and 62 ER.
The results can be seen in the attached document.
