The aim of the strategic assessment is to identify the longer-term issues impacting on Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, as well as the scope of, and projections for crime, criminality and other community safety concerns. Its purpose is to:

Drive the business of Community Safety Partnerships and the police Strategic Tasking and Co-ordination Group

Inform Sustainable Community Strategies, Local Area Agreements and other relevant strategies and plans

Facilitate resource allocation

Identify areas of threat, risk and harm

Aid the formation of the partnership plan/control strategy, which will identify intelligence, prevention and enforcement activity

Define the Intelligence Requirement.
