The Safer Leicester Partnership is urging women and men, not to suffer in silence and to find the strength to change their situation. There are many organisations who can offer support:
Each year over 8,000 reports are made to the police regarding domestic violence, yet when the Safer Leicester Partnership asks members of the public about their experiences, nearly half have never told anyone about it, let alone reporting each incident. That may well mean that every hour in Leicester, at least two people will be experiencing physical, emotional, sexual or financial abuse from their partner/ex-partner or an adult family member.
