Leicester City Council has set up Area Committees to help bring Councillors and the people they represent closer together. Area committees are intended to provide better solutions to local problems and improve services by influencing decision making and bringing it closer to the public.
Area Committee meetings are for everyone living in the area, and are open to anyone to attend. The Area Committee meeting is a forum for people to raise the issues that most concern them in their local community - and this can include concerns relating to crime, disorder, and community safety. Issues raised at the Area Committee meetings are forwarded to the relevant partner agency to deal with.
Area Committees will be rolled out to all parts of the city over the next few months. In the meantime, if you wish to find out more about Area Committees, and find out if meetings are running in your area, please
